Heightside House Nursing Home

Heightside House Nursing Home provides personal and nursing care to up to 78 people, including older people and younger adults with mental health support needs. The service operates across four units: The House, an adapted four-storey building with a High Dependency Unit; The Mews, a purpose-built facility with shared bungalows and flats; Close Care, which includes a seven-bedded unit and bungalow; and The Gate House, accommodating up to three people. At inspection, 47 people were living at the service.

Staff support people to have maximum choice and control over their lives in the least restrictive way possible. People told inspectors they felt safe living at the home, with risks to their health, safety and wellbeing managed well. Staffing levels were appropriate to meet people's needs, and residents reported not waiting long for support.

However, medicines were not always managed safely or in line with national guidance.
