Heffle Court

Heffle Court is a purpose-built care home accommodating up to 41 older people who require residential or nursing care. The residents typically have various health and mobility problems, with some living with dementia and memory loss. At the time of inspection, 37 people were resident at the home.

The home had quality assurance systems in place to review care provision and documentation. However, these processes needed strengthening to ensure staff systematically observed and recorded bruising, particularly during personal care. There was an overreliance on verbal sharing of information rather than robust written documentation. This gap meant important observations about residents' physical condition were not being clearly recorded and communicated to all staff.
