Haven Nursing Home

Haven Nursing Home provides personal and nursing care for up to 70 older people, some living with dementia, and had 68 residents at the time of the assessment. The CQC rated the service Requires Improvement overall, finding breaches around consent and governance. Inspectors found the provider's use of CCTV had not been properly assessed against legal requirements, and audits were not robust enough to pick up issues with accidents, incidents and Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards.

On the positive side, inspectors found staff kind, compassionate and attentive, with residents feeling safe and well cared for. Clinical care and medicines management were well managed, and people spoke positively about the food, activities and leadership. The provider must now act on an action plan to address the shortfalls identified.
