Harewood Court Nursing Home

This residential care home provides nursing and personal care to up to 40 people aged 65 and over, with 36 residents at the time of inspection. The home is arranged across two floors with separate adapted facilities on each level. While staff reported sufficient numbers on each shift, inspectors observed few people in communal areas during visits. Risks related to behaviours had not been properly managed, and records for monitoring food and fluid intake were lacking for people assessed at risk of weight loss.

The home demonstrated effective safeguarding practices, with staff understanding abuse prevention principles and a clear system in place to respond to incidents. Care plans reflected residents' preferences and choices, and people were supported to access healthcare services as needed. Staff completed a wide range of training, and residents were able to request their preferred meals.
