Gledhow

Gledhow provides personal care for 29 older people, some living with dementia, with capacity for up to 50 residents. People reported feeling safe at the home, with risk assessments containing relevant information to prevent incidents. Staff numbers were sufficient to meet residents' needs, and medicines were managed safely. The home completed mental capacity assessments when restrictions were necessary and made best interest decisions in consultation with others, supporting people to have maximum choice and control of their lives.

Quality assurance systems monitored the home's performance, and lessons learned from incidents were shared to drive improvement. Staff understood their responsibilities under the Mental Capacity Act 2005 and sought residents' consent, supporting them in the least restrictive way possible. The home held regular meetings with residents, families, and staff to gather feedback and identify areas for improvement.
