About Harborne House

Harborne House is a residential care home in Birmingham, providing support for adults under 65 with learning disabilities. The findings below set out what the CQC most recently observed there.

Harborne House provides residential care for up to four adults under 65 with learning disabilities. The home has implemented several measures to support safe visits with loved ones, including an outdoor visitor pod with a booking system and cleaning protocols between visits. Visitors complete risk assessments and screening questionnaires before entering the home.

The provider has designated a lead for infection control who monitors staff use of personal protective equipment and handwashing practices. Enhanced cleaning schedules ensure high-touch areas are cleaned at least every four hours, with separate daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning routines in place. The registered manager audits these cleaning schedules to ensure compliance with infection control standards.
