Gwendolen Road Care Home

Gwendolen Road Care Home provides personal care for up to 14 people with learning disabilities or long-term mental health conditions in an adapted building. At inspection, 12 people were living there. The service had made improvements since the last inspection, with people receiving appropriate levels of care based on individual assessments. Most care plans had been reviewed and arrangements were in place to continue this practice. Staff guidance was detailed and up to date, helping them meet each person's individual needs. Staff knew people well, including their routines and preferences, and supported them to have maximum choice and control over their lives in the least restrictive way possible. Care staff had received refresher training and had opportunities to discuss their work, training and development on an ongoing basis. The service was continuing to make improvements to enable people to achieve positive outcomes.
