Grenham Bay Court

Grenham Bay Court, in Kent, is a residential home providing personal care to older people, some of whom are living with dementia. The CQC found the service requires improvement overall, and rated it Good only for how caring staff were. Inspectors identified four breaches of regulation, covering safe care, staff recruitment, governance and person-centred care, and found the quality of the service had declined since the previous inspection.

Risks to people's health had not always been properly assessed, medicines were not always safely managed, and staff recruitment checks had gaps. Care was not always tailored to individual needs, with limited use of pictorial information to aid understanding. However, staff felt well supported, worked well as a team, and people and relatives spoke positively about their experience and their relationships with the management team.
