Grasmere Lodge is a residential care home providing personal care for up to 20 people with mental health needs and difficulties related to addiction. Inspectors rated the service Requires Improvement overall, finding the provider reactive rather than proactive in addressing risks, including fire safety and a persistent water leak. Governance remained in breach of regulations, though improvements began during the assessment.
Despite this, staff were found caring, kind and skilled, with people describing real progress in their independence and family relationships. People felt safe, listened to and confident that complaints would be resolved, and relatives praised the positive impact of the care provided.
