Grange Cottage Residential home for Elderly Persons

Grange Cottage provides accommodation and personal care for up to nine older people and those with dementia. Seven residents were living in the home at inspection. The home had implemented robust infection prevention procedures, with clear signage at the entrance about COVID-19 symptoms and a designated external testing area for visitors. Staff created a weatherproof outdoor sitting area where residents could meet visitors while maintaining social distancing. The provider demonstrated knowledgeable practice in supporting people to self-isolate in their rooms, with staff discreetly monitoring those who left their rooms to ensure social distancing was maintained. When new residents were admitted, they received a negative COVID-19 test result before moving in and were supported to self-isolate in their rooms for 14 days.
