Gracelands Care Home

Gracelands Care Home provides accommodation and personal care for older and younger adults, some of whom live with dementia, a learning disability or autism. It also supports people with physical disabilities, sensory impairments, mental health needs or those detained under the Mental Health Act. The home can accommodate 43 people and 34 were living there at the time of the assessment, which followed concerns about staffing and risk management.

The CQC found no cause for concern and the home remains rated good overall. Staff were kind, well trained and knew people well, safe recruitment was followed, and risks were properly assessed and reviewed. Incidents were reported and acted on, mental capacity principles were understood, and quality assurance systems gave the management team good oversight.

People and relatives spoke positively about feeling safe and well cared for.
