Glottenham Manor Nursing Home

Glottenham Manor accommodates up to 50 people requiring nursing care, supporting adults with conditions including diabetes, lung and heart disorders, Parkinson's disease, and general frailty. At inspection, 19 people were living at the service. Staff were appropriately recruited and trained to recognise signs of abuse and risk, with one resident commenting, "It's safe and lovely here." Medicines were administered safely by competent trained staff, and all staff had received essential training to meet people's support and care needs with additional service-specific training being arranged by registered nurses.

Care plans and risk assessments protected people's safety and wellbeing while supporting them to take positive risks and maintain choice and control over their lives. However, the provider's governance systems had not identified shortfalls in record-keeping, with documentation lacking reference and guidance for staff on managing health-related needs such as diabetes management.
