Frintondene Care Home

Frintondene Care Home provides accommodation and personal care for up to eight people aged 65 and over, some living with early dementia. The large adapted property is located close to the seafront. At inspection, six people were being supported by management and staff who were highly motivated, kind and compassionate. People told inspectors they felt safe living at the service, with sufficient staffing to meet their needs. Staff knew people well, understood their preferred routines and what mattered to them, and involved healthcare professionals to ensure medical needs were met.

Care plans showed people were consulted over their care and encouraged to retain their independence. However, the provider's systems to check on safety and quality needed improvement. Inspectors recommended the manager network with other services to keep updated with national good practice guidance, and that staff receive support in identifying stimulating activities to help prevent social isolation, particularly for those living with dementia.
