Freshford Cottage Nursing Home is a small, homely nursing home set in the beautiful surroundings of East Sussex. The team there understands how much it means to families to find a place where their loved ones feel genuinely cared for and at ease. With its manageable size and dedicated staff, it offers a personal approach to nursing care that many families find reassuring.
Freshford Cottage Nursing Home provides personal and nursing care to up to 20 older people with a range of health care needs, including those with memory loss and people receiving end-of-life care. At the time of inspection, 17 people were using the service.
Inspectors found that people were not consistently supported to have maximum choice and control of their lives. Staff did not always support residents in the least restrictive way possible or in their best interests, and the home's policies and systems did not adequately support this practice.
