Freeman College

Freeman College is a specialist residential further education college supporting young people with a learning disability, mental health needs, or autistic people. The service accommodates up to 20 people and also operates a shared lives scheme placing vulnerable adults with self-employed carers in community homes. At the time of inspection, 18 people were receiving services.

The provider demonstrated commitment to maximizing choice, control and independence for residents. Risk assessments were in place for people's care, with the service adopting least restrictive practices underpinned by positive behaviour support approaches. Staff had identified and managed risks to minimize potential harm while supporting residents' autonomy and community integration.
