The purpose-built service supports older people, some living with dementia, across three separate floors accommodated according to individual needs. The home has made significant improvements to governance structures, risk management and staffing levels, enhancing safety throughout the service.

Residents and families report feeling safe and well cared for. One relative commented, "The ambiance at Ferndown Manor is one of a caring family. Apart from the obvious security in place, the carers ensure that my [relative] eats, is comfortable and that I am advised of any issues straight away." Robust systems assess and regularly review potential health and safety risks, ensuring consistent protection from harm. A resident stated, "Yes I feel very safe, I couldn't ask for more." The home has recruited staff safely and maintains adequate staffing levels to meet people's care needs.
