Fernbank Nursing Home

This nursing home provides personal and nursing care to older people, including those living with dementia, and accommodates up to 30 residents. At inspection, 20 people were living at the home in a single adapted building. Relatives reported feeling assured their family members were safe and received good, person-centred care.

Safeguarding processes were in place to protect people from abuse, and risks associated with individual care needs had been assessed with appropriate guidance for staff to follow.

The service maintained high standards of cleanliness and upkeep. Staffing levels were adequate to meet residents' needs and ensure safety, and the home followed appropriate recruitment procedures to ensure staff suitability. Infection control measures protected residents from the spread of infection, and medicines were managed and administered safely.
