Faro Lodge

Faro Lodge provides respite care for up to six people with a learning disability. During inspection, one person was using the service.

The home had significant safeguarding concerns. Risk assessments were not consistently in place, particularly for one person whose care plan identified risks of leaving without staff knowledge. Despite these documented risks, no detailed mitigation strategies had been created, and the person had already left the service unsupported during their stay, placing them in danger. Additionally, the provider had not assessed the mental capacity of any service users before making Best Interest Decisions and requesting Deprivation of Liberty authorisations, which does not comply with required procedures.
