Evergreen Lodge

Evergreen Lodge in Wirral is a nursing home providing accommodation and personal care for up to 40 people across four units. The CQC rated the service inadequate overall and has taken enforcement action against the provider. Inspectors found breaches relating to dignity, consent, safe care, staffing and governance, including poor adherence to the Mental Capacity Act and incomplete recording of restraint and incidents.

Some relatives were happy with care, and staff who knew people well showed positive interactions. However, inspectors observed people waiting for support, including personal care, routines driven by the service rather than individual needs, and instances where dignity and confidentiality were compromised, such as being weighed in communal areas.
