Derwent Lodge Nursing Home

Derwent Lodge Nursing Home accommodates up to 46 residents, including people living with dementia. At inspection, 33 people were living at the home. Staff were described by residents as very busy at times, meaning people sometimes had to wait for support.

Risk assessments had been completed but were not consistently updated when residents' needs changed, leaving some risks not properly mitigated. Repositioning records did not always reflect that people received support as planned, and pressure relieving air mattresses were not consistently set at the correct settings for individual residents. While care plans provided detailed information about medical conditions, other care plans were not always updated to reflect changing needs.
