Elmhurst Short Stay Service

Elmhurst Short Stay Service provides personal care for up to 27 older people, primarily offering short-term residential stays including respite breaks and emergency care. At inspection, the service was supporting 20 people. Staff used risk assessments and individualised care plans to meet people's needs and preferences, ensuring they received the care needed to stay safe and well. People looked healthy, received their medicines safely, and benefited from access to a wide range of activities supporting their health and wellbeing.

The home maintained very high standards of cleanliness and hygiene, with staff consistently following good infection control practices including appropriate use of personal protective equipment. The service worked closely with other health and social care providers to coordinate care, while supporting people with maximum choice and control over their lives.
