About Ellesmere House

Ellesmere House is a residential care home in Shropshire, supporting older and younger adults, including people with physical disabilities, mental health needs and dementia. The findings below set out the CQC's most recent assessment of the service.

Ellesmere House is a care home in Shropshire providing support for up to 28 older and younger adults, including people with physical disabilities, mental health needs and those living with dementia. The CQC rated the home Good overall. Inspectors found a positive culture of learning, safe transitions into the home, and staff who protected people from abuse while respecting their choices.

Improvements were needed in infection control, recruitment processes, medicines administration and governance systems to ensure shortfalls were identified and addressed. Even so, people and families consistently said they felt well cared for, and health professionals working with the home were equally positive about the care provided.
