Ellerslie Court

Ellerslie Court provides accommodation and personal care for up to 14 adults, including people living with dementia. The CQC rated the home inadequate and placed it in special measures after finding five breaches of legal regulations, covering safe care, staffing, consent, person-centred care and governance.

Inspectors found unsafe environments, unaddressed fire risk actions, poor medicines management and insufficient staffing with little supervision. Care plans were outdated and consent under the Mental Capacity Act was not properly obtained. Families described staff as friendly, but raised concerns about agency turnover, slow call bell response, and a lack of meaningful activities.
