Dalemain House

Dalemain House is a residential care home in Sefton providing accommodation and personal care for older people, including some living with dementia. The CQC found three breaches of regulations, covering safe care and treatment, person-centred care and governance, and rated the home Requires Improvement overall. Inspectors identified fire and safety risks, unsafe medicines management, poor incident analysis, and gaps in staff training and care planning.

The home has lacked a registered manager since 2021, and governance concerns raised previously had not been resolved.

Despite this, families described staff as kind, caring and attentive, and felt their relatives were safe and well understood. Concerns were raised about limited activities and some isolation, though communication with the manager was generally seen as good.
