Elizabeth House

Elizabeth House is a residential care home in one adapted building, providing personal care to up to 20 older people, including some living with dementia. Following a recent CQC assessment, the rating fell from Good to Requires Improvement. Inspectors found that risk monitoring, staff training records and supervision were not consistently robust, and governance systems failed to identify these gaps, including weaknesses in how incidents and accidents were investigated.

The CQC found positives too: medicines were managed safely, the home was clean, and equipment checks were regular. People and relatives spoke warmly of staff, describing care as respectful and attentive, with choices supported around meals, activities and daily routines. The registered manager responded promptly, beginning improvements immediately after the assessment.
