Edwin Therapeutic Unit

Edwin Therapeutic Unit is a residential care home providing personal care for up to three people with complex needs, including those with learning disabilities, autistic spectrum disorder, mental health difficulties, eating disorders, and anxiety-related behaviours. The service accommodates residents across three floors with communal spaces including a lounge, kitchen, and dining room. At the time of inspection, one young person was living at the service.

Staff supported people to pursue their interests and achieve aspirations, and residents were able to personalise their rooms. However, the service did not consistently maximise people's choice, control and independence. When people's freedoms had been restricted, there was no review of these restrictions to assess whether less restrictive alternatives were available.
