Eastbourne Care Home

Eastbourne Care Home is a residential nursing home providing support to older people and those living with dementia. Previously rated inadequate, the service has made enough progress to move out of special measures, but the CQC still rates it Requires Improvement overall. Inspectors found risks were not always well managed, consent to care was not always properly recorded, and governance had not consistently driven or sustained improvement.

Medicines management had improved but needed further work, and monitoring of eating and drinking support needed strengthening. On the positive side, people and relatives said staff were kind, attentive and knew them well, and activities were available. Some residents were unsure who the manager was or unaware of recent changes.
