Eachstep Lockwood Care Home

Norman Hudson Care Home provides residential and nursing care for up to 42 people across three floors. At inspection, 27 people were living there, the majority with dementia, with communal areas on the ground floor.

Inspectors found significant concerns with medication management. Medicines were not always administered as prescribed, and robust recording systems were not in place. Medication running balances did not match actual stock held, protocols for 'as required' medicines were missing, and the medication fridge temperature was operating outside safe ranges. The provider put missing protocols in place during the inspection. While the provider's audits had identified some issues, they had not identified all the problems found by inspectors.
