Aden Court Care Home

Aden Court Care Home is a nursing home accommodating up to 40 older people requiring personal and nursing care, with 30 residents at the time of inspection. The single adapted building features bedrooms on the ground and first floors, with main communal areas on the ground floor. Residents with higher dependency needs experienced inconsistencies in their care and support, while more independent residents reported more positive experiences. Although staff were aware of risks within the service, systems for managing and responding to these risks required improvement.

Staffing levels were kept under review using a dependency tool, though people, staff and relatives gave mixed feedback about whether staffing was sufficient to meet needs in a timely way. The home was recruiting to address staffing adequacy, but background checks had not always been completed robustly before staff began working at the service. The provider was recommended to continue reviewing residents' needs and staff deployment to ensure care is delivered promptly.
