Duncote Hall Nursing Home

Duncote Hall provides long and short-term residential nursing care for up to 40 older people, including those living with dementia. At inspection, 13 people were using the service. Staff had made improvements since the last inspection, though these needed fuller embedding across the home. Systems for overseeing the service and monitoring care were in place but required review to ensure all information was captured and risks reduced.

People were protected from harm, with known risks assessed and mitigating strategies implemented. Most unexplained injuries were investigated, followed up and recorded appropriately. Staff administered medicines safely and only trained staff handled medications. However, not all prescribed medicines had been recorded appropriately, though no evidence of harm to people was found.
