Downs House is a residential care home providing support to older people, some of whom are living with dementia. Inspectors found the service had improved since the last inspection, when breaches relating to staff training, consent and governance were identified, and the provider was no longer in breach of these regulations.

Staff were kind, respectful and attentive, with care tailored to individual needs and families involved in planning. Some governance systems and medication record-keeping were still being embedded under new management, though the CQC found this had not affected people's wellbeing, and the home was rated Good overall.
