Inspectors found staff kind, attentive and well trained, with care tailored to individual needs and preferences, and management described as approachable and effective.

Some safety concerns were identified, including inconsistent medicines management and an unattended hot food trolley that posed a risk of harm. Date of Assessment 11 August to 22 August 2025.
Dovecote Manor Care Home is a care home providing personal care without nursing for up to 44 people. At the time of our assessment there were 43 people living in the home. The service supports older people and people living with dementia.
We found that medicines were not always managed safely, and we observed a hot food trolley unattended which was hot to the touch, this put people at risk of harm. The provider was proactive in responding promptly to these issues when brought to their attention.
People’s needs were assessed appropriately, and care reflected people’s individual needs and preferences.
Staff provided safe care and treated people with kindness and compassion.
The provider had structured governance systems and audits which were effective in identifying and addressing concerns. Staff received training and regular supervision to maintain high quality care.
Staff told us they felt supported and valued. The manager was approachable, visible, and understood their responsibilities.
