Delamer House

Delamer House accommodates up to 57 older people and those living with dementia, though it does not provide nursing care. At inspection, 40 people were using the service. Staff were visible and responded quickly to people's needs, and the service supported residents to participate in a range of activities both within the home and in the community. People's health and nutritional needs were well managed, with strong relationships developed to ensure individual care, and medicines were administered appropriately.

The registered manager had not adequately updated their knowledge of regulatory responsibilities and had not always notified the Commission of authorised Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards. While accidents and incidents were recorded and monitored, individual analysis of unwitnessed falls had not taken place. Environmental checks were not completed in line with national guidelines. Improvements to make the environment more dementia friendly had been made since the last inspection, though further enhancements were still needed.
