About Croft House

Croft House is a residential care home in Somerset, providing personal care for older people alongside dedicated support for people living with dementia. Details of the most recent CQC inspection are set out below.

This care home accommodates up to 67 people across four separate areas, with two units providing personal care for older people and two specialising in dementia care. At inspection, 61 people were living at the home. Staff were sufficient in number, though not always deployed effectively—an issue the provider was already working to address.

People felt safe and looked relaxed with staff, describing them as friendly and well-caring. Senior staff administered medicines safely after completing appropriate training and competency assessments.

However, residents did not always receive proactive support and reassurance from staff. The inspector recommended that the provider offer practical dementia care training to all staff to improve the quality of support provided.
