Christ the King, Footherley Hall

Christ the King, Footherley Hall is a care home providing support to people over 65 who may be living with dementia, a physical disability or a sensory impairment. This follow-up inspection found continued breaches relating to risk and medicine management and governance, along with a new breach concerning mental capacity assessments. The registered manager had also failed to submit required notifications about key events to the CQC.

Inspectors found care records were not always complete, medicines were not always recorded safely, and quality monitoring systems were not always effective. Staff were described as kind, caring and attentive, and people spoke positively about food and activities, but robust processes for referring safeguarding concerns externally were lacking.
