Chipstead Lake - Care Home Physical Disabilities

Chipstead Lake is a care home for people with physical disabilities, some of whom also have a learning disability. The CQC rated it Requires Improvement overall, following concerns raised about risk management and culture within the service.

Inspectors found risks to people's health had not always been properly assessed or updated, and staff lacked clear guidance on keeping people safe. Records of capacity assessments and best interest decisions did not follow required practice, and governance systems were not effective at spotting problems. On a more positive note, there were enough staff, who knew people well and supported their choices, and people had access to medical appointments when needed.
