Chilton Meadows Care Home

Chilton Meadows Care Home provides accommodation, nursing and personal care for up to 120 older people across four units, some living with dementia. At the time of the assessment, 106 people were using the service, with quality of care varying between units, and concerns were focused mainly on two of them, which had seen frequent changes of leadership.

Inspectors found breaches relating to safe care and good governance, including shortfalls in managing risks, medicines, cleanliness and the environment. Staffing levels and deployment needed improvement, with people sometimes waiting for help, and activities and housekeeping were under-resourced. Feedback on kindness was mixed, though the management team was open to making the required changes.
