About Baylham Care Home

Baylham Care Home is a nursing home in Suffolk, providing accommodation and nursing care for adults with a range of needs, including dementia, learning disabilities, mental health conditions and physical or sensory impairments. Details of the most recent CQC findings are set out below.

Baylham Care Home provides accommodation, personal care and nursing care for up to 55 people, including those living with dementia, learning disabilities, mental health conditions and physical or sensory impairments. Following new leadership since the previous inadequate rating, the CQC found early signs of improvement, but progress was inconsistent and the service remains rated Requires Improvement.

Inspectors identified ongoing breaches around medicines management and governance, with unsafe storage and administration practices, incomplete records and gaps in care planning. Staffing deployment was inconsistent, particularly at weekends. Staff were generally kind and respectful, and relatives valued flexible visiting, though activities and outdoor access were limited for some residents.
