Cheriton Care Home

Cheriton Care Home provides residential care and support to up to 27 older people, including those with dementia, accommodated across two floors in one building. At inspection, 15 people were using the service. Residents felt safe and relatives were satisfied with the quality of care provided. Family members commented positively, saying "I'm very happy and pleased with the service" and "I am very happy that he is safe. They do a fantastic job." Staff were noted as caring and attentive to residents' health and care needs.

However, inspectors identified gaps in risk management, with not all risks properly identified and mitigated. Staffing levels were insufficient, affecting the quality of care delivery, access to person-centred activities, and the cleanliness of the premises. While some areas had been refurbished, further improvements were needed to ensure the service maintained adequate safety, cleanliness, and suitable facilities for residents.
