About Katherine House

Katherine House is a residential care home in Birmingham, providing accommodation and personal care for people with learning disabilities and autistic people. The findings below set out what CQC inspectors found on their most recent visit.

Katherine House is a residential care home providing accommodation and personal care for up to 9 people with learning disabilities and autistic people. The eight residents live in a small, ordinary house that blends into the local community, with personalised bedrooms reflecting individual preferences and choices.

However, inspectors identified several safety concerns. Risk assessments were not sufficiently documented in care records, and some areas of the environment were not consistently clean. Medicines management fell short of safe practice standards, and staff competency assessments were not completed in accordance with the provider's own policies and best practice guidelines.
