Castleford Lodge

Castleford Lodge provides accommodation and nursing or personal care for up to 60 older people, some living with dementia. The CQC carried out a responsive assessment following concerns received, and found the home overall performing well. A fault with call bells was identified early on but was resolved promptly once raised with the manager.

Staffing levels, medicines management and governance were all found to be safe and effective.

People living at the home were overwhelmingly positive, describing kind, knowledgeable staff who respected their privacy and dignity and involved them in planning their care. Relatives praised the standard of care and said the manager was approachable, though some preferred permanent staff over agency workers. The home is rated Good overall.
