Cann House Care Home

Cann House Care Home provides personal and nursing care for up to 62 people, including those with nursing needs. At the time of the CQC's assessment, 46 people were living there. Inspectors rated the service requires improvement overall, finding that risks to people, including medicines and the environment, were not always well managed, care plans lacked detail, and people's rights under the Mental Capacity Act were not always protected.

The CQC found the home clean and well kept, with safe recruitment and good safeguarding procedures in place. People and relatives spoke positively about staff kindness and the care provided, though some felt staffing levels at weekends and communication could improve. The provider was found in breach of regulations relating to safe care and governance.
