Devonshire House and Lodge

Devonshire House and Lodge is a purpose-built care home in the Woolwell area of Plymouth, providing nursing and dementia care to older people who need continuous support and monitoring. It is registered for up to 77 people across four units. A responsive assessment followed incidents and concerns raised over the previous year, but inspectors found the service continued to perform well, and the home retained its overall good rating.

People and relatives said they felt safe, and staff knew people well, with individual risks properly assessed and reviewed. Some relatives, staff and professionals had previously raised concerns about staffing levels, though the CQC found sufficient staff were in place at the time, following recent recruitment. Staff were described as kind and caring, treating people with dignity and supporting their choices.
