Camelot Residential Care Home

This residential care home provides personal care support to older people, with most residents living with dementia and requiring assistance with mobility and skin integrity. At the time of inspection, 11 people were living there out of a capacity of 17.

Staffing arrangements ensured people's needs were responded to promptly, and staff demonstrated good understanding of safeguarding procedures and how to identify and respond to abuse or discrimination concerns. Staff recruitment was conducted safely, and medicines were stored, administered and disposed of safely. The home maintained suitable risk assessment processes and the premises were clean and well maintained.

However, quality systems were not fully developed and did not adequately support the management of the service. Care records did not consistently reflect the care and support actually provided, and several policies and procedures required updating to align with best practice standards.
