About Grange House

Grange House is a residential care home in East Sussex, providing accommodation and personal care for older people. Details of the most recent CQC assessment are set out below.

Grange House provides accommodation for up to 17 older people; 13 people were living there at the time of assessment. The CQC rated the home Requires Improvement, down from Good previously, finding breaches relating to safe care, staffing and governance. The home had been without a registered manager since 2023, fire safety concerns were identified, and recruitment checks and record-keeping were inadequate.

Inspectors did note positives: staff knew people well, worked as a strong team, and treated residents with kindness. Relatives praised staff but highlighted the lack of management support. A new manager had been appointed and was due to start shortly after the assessment.
