Calder View

Calder View is a residential care home providing personal care to up to 6 people who require support with their mental health. The service operates from a two-storey building. At inspection, staffing levels were lower than required on some shifts, though the home was actively recruiting to address this gap. Recruitment processes needed strengthening to ensure full employment histories were being sought.

Medication management required improvement. While pill counts matched records, medicines paperwork needed to be completed, guidelines needed to be followed more consistently, and medicines audits needed to be more robust. The home was clean and tidy, and people were supported to have visitors. However, staff were not appropriately wearing face masks on arrival, as the provider's infection control policy did not align with national guidance. This was immediately rectified during the inspection.
