Burlington Villa

Burlington Villa accommodates nine people with learning disabilities in one adapted building. The service does not always demonstrate respect for people's dignity, choices and independence. Internal and external doors are locked to manage one person's behaviour, which restricts freedom for all residents. Staff do not consistently support people to have maximum choice and control over their own lives, raising concerns about whether the service takes a human rights approach to managing challenging behaviours. Medicine management is also inconsistent, with staff not always supporting people in ways that achieve the best possible outcomes. The service does not maintain accurate and up-to-date medicine records, particularly regarding 'as required' medicines used to manage behaviour, where documentation lacks thoroughness and detail.
