Beechwood

Beechwood House provides personal care and accommodation for eight people living with learning disabilities. The service operates as a large house on a quiet street with one en-suite bedroom and shared bathing facilities for the remaining rooms. It is run by the charity Autism East Midlands.

People felt safe at the service, with safeguarding established as a high priority. Staff had received training on safeguarding, and people using the service were given information about staying safe and encouraged to attend training if interested. The home maintained sufficient staffing levels with competent, skilled staff who knew people well. Staff numbers were monitored and increased as needed to support people with appointments and activities. Safe recruitment checks were completed for all staff upon employment.
