Bumblebee Lodge

Bumblebee Lodge is a residential home providing accommodation and personal care to up to three people with autism and/or learning disabilities. The CQC rated the service Requires Improvement overall, finding that it must make changes to meet expected standards.

Inspectors found safeguarding concerns were not always managed robustly, and processes to protect people deprived of their liberty did not always follow the Mental Capacity Act. Risk management, staffing levels and medicines handling also raised concerns. However, staff knew people well, supported their choices and independence, and people and relatives said they felt safe and well cared for.
