Buckingham Care Home

Buckingham Care Home provides accommodation and personal care for older people, some living with dementia, across up to 72 places on two floors. At the time of the assessment 34 people were living there. The CQC rated the service requires improvement overall, though previous breaches around governance and infection control had been resolved.

Most relatives felt their family member was safe and found staff approachable, describing them as kind and caring. However, many raised concerns about heavy use of agency and overseas staff, feeling this sometimes affected care quality and communication. The home was found clean, medicines were managed well, and activities and family involvement were praised.

Inspectors found further improvement was still needed in safety and leadership.
